NetLink Trust today announced that Mr Tong Yew Heng has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 4 January 2016. Mr Ng Yong Hwee has stepped down to pursue other interests.
“We welcome Yew Heng onboard. He is no stranger to NetLink Trust, having previously been a member of our board of directors. He brings with him more than 20 years of experience in senior management positions in various industries. We would also like to thank Yong Hwee for his contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” said Mr Yap Chee Keong, Chairman of NetLink Trust.
Mr Tong added, “I look forward to working closely with the board and the management as we continue to strive to achieve better service and operational efficiencies for the benefit of our partners and end users.”
Prior to joining NetLink Trust, Mr Tong was Executive Vice President of Corporate and Market Development at ST Electronics. Before that, he was the Group CEO of CitySpring Infrastructure Trust with overall responsibility for the performance of the portfolio of gas, water, electricity and telecoms businesses within the CitySpring Group. He also served as a director on the board of various companies within the CitySpring Group, including: City Gas Pte Ltd, SingSpring Pte Ltd, Basslink Pty Ltd and Basslink Telecoms Pty Ltd.
Mr Tong holds a Masters of Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in the UK. He also attended the Programme for Executive Development at the International Institute of Management Development, Switzerland and is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
